Richardson Pioneer donates $50,000 to Outdoor Recreation Park

May 17, 2018

The funds, provided through the Richardson Foundation, are to be dedicated to the re-purposing of the former Unity Centennial Swimming Pool site into a multi-use recreational facility providing sport options such as ball hockey, basketball, tennis, skateboarding, and ice skating. The site will be open to the public during daytime hours and at no cost to users. As a result of the donation, the facility will be named the Richardson Outdoor Recreation Park. Tendering of the project is expected to occur shortly, with construction to commence in the summer of 2018 and majority completion by the fall of 2018. A fundraising committee continues to seek additional funds to pay for all site upgrades and equipment purchases. For more information on the project contact us at development@townofunity.com .
